Choosing LED strip lights

Indoors: a 12V strip with a driver suits kitchens, shelves and coving. The 3528 strip is splash proof, so keep it away from direct water.

Outdoors and signs: the neon flex rope lights are waterproof, and the IP65 and IP67 modules are sealed for signage and damp areas.

Colour changing: RGB strips and modules are run from an RGB controller.

Do I need a driver for 12V LED strip lights?

Yes. 12V strips and modules need a 12V LED driver rated above the total wattage of the run. See our LED drivers and the LED driver guide. The 220-240V neon flex and 220V sign modules do not need a driver.

What do IP65 and IP67 mean?

IP65 is protected against water jets, so it suits outdoor signs and damp areas. IP67 can survive temporary immersion. A splash-proof strip is for indoor use away from direct water.

Which connector do I need?

Single-colour strips use 2-pin connectors and RGB strips use 4-pin connectors. Neon flex accessories are sized to the profile, such as 8x16 mm, 15x16 mm or 17 mm round, so match the size of your neon flex.
